Empowering Lives Globally

Canada Health Assistance Program (CHAP) is a registered charity organization dedicated to serve others. We have the privilege of providing direct assistance to qualified and deserving individuals in need and charities, both locally and internationally, Through a careful review process all projects are confirmed as legitimate by our project managers.

Based on each unique circumstance, we strive to accommodate a specific need through the generous giving of others.

Approved Projects | Process and Projects

The What

Canada Health Assistance Program (CHAP) enables donors to financially contribute to pre-approved projects that have been laid on their hearts. These projects can consist of individuals as well as organizations based in the Canada, US or overseas.

The Process

We receive information daily, on persons or organizations who need some level of assistance. The referring party supplies the basic information we require, to determine if we can assist and for us to conduct a due-diligence review to ascertain the legitimacy and level of need.

Our project committee prayerfully reviews all requests, qualifies the project for due-diligence and upon completion of the due-diligence process, approves or rejects the request for assistance.

Once a project is approved it is able to receive donations, out of which we make distributions for the approved recipient (individual or organization).

Families Supported

Global Reach

Our core values are built around a caring and sharing vision that God has given us, to support and assist those who need it most. By creating a community and network of donors and recipients, we can provide assistance to: disaster victims, individuals with medical conditions, foreign organizations providing charitable work, international students, as well as many other projects that need support.

INTEGRATION

CHAP outreach partner field staff [“Facilitators”] visit homes in a community to establish rapport, create an open channel of communication and build trust on an individual basis. Understanding the people in a community is vital in preparing them for change.

SOCIAL INVESTIGATION

IDENTIFICATION + PRIORITIZATION OF IDEAS

GROUNDWORKING

Facilitators conduct informal interviews and study community data (demographics, local access to water sources, household income streams, infrastructure, among other factors) to learn more about the presence and severity of issues faced by the community.

Facilitators prepare community members to participate in activities and raise their awareness of their agency and importance as individual components of a systematized method of issue-resolution.

MEETING

The community gathers to analyze, develop, and plan solutions to address their issues. Individual, personal perceptions and aspirations consolidate into collective knowledge and formalized project goals.

Community members prepare to mobilize by simulating possible challenges in their upcoming activities/mobilizations, in a compassionate, low-pressure group setting. Scenarios are acted-out and discussed to build confidence in members’ ability to communicate, negotiate and solve problems in a new or unfamiliar setting.

With preparations complete, it’s time to act. Community members coordinate with others affected by the prioritized issue, as well as representatives from resource networks (local/regional governments, NGOs, companies, etc) in order to secure any necessary permits or equipment or even financial resources, as well as to gain experience in negotiating as equal members of society.

With the group mobilization completed, community members meet to assess the strengths and challenges of their efforts and to determine if they reached their goals. Insights from this step will be integrated into planning for future projects together.
